Imaging USA

This past month has been filled with fun new and exciting adventures, one of which was Imaging USA in Nashville, TN. I always love going to the conventions to see friends and meet new people. While there, I taught a class with one of my good friends and fellow photographer Kimberly Wylie out of Dallas, TX.

Being asked to speak at a national convention like Imaging USA was a huge honor and we were so glad to be part of it. At the end of the class we gave away several giveaways and the crowd of over 1200 photographers went wild, which Kim was smart enough to videotape because it was really funny! Thanks to everyone who attended and I hope to see you next time.

high line

This past weekend John and I took a little time to get away to NYC, shop, see a show and have some great meals. When walking around the meatpacking district we stumbled upon the high line, a former railroad-now-walking-path that runs along the west side of Manhattan. Following signs to the elevated walkway, we loved walking along the high line and seeing New York from a different point of view. The architecture of the path incorporates new and old elements into a modern design which you can see in some of the images I took.

All I had along was my iphone so please excuse the image quality, but I wanted to share how much we loved discovering the high line. If you have a chance, check out the website as well for a really interesting high line history.

mommy + me

I love seeing these guys, and have been photographing this family since the oldest was just a little baby. It was important to mom for the two to be in some photos together, and to have a great one of the three of them she could give to Dad for Valentine's day as well. She wasn't able to wait quite that long to surprise him, but she waited longer than either of us thought she would be able to!

Mike + Rose

As I look back on all of the weddings I photographed last fall, I wanted to share some of my favorites details and moments from the many celebrations that I was fortunate enough to take part in. Check out Rose + Mike's candy carnival themed wedding which took place at the Greenville Country Club in Delaware. Our entire staff has been going nuts over their amazing details, most of which were designed by Mike, a graphic designer. Liz Marden's confectionery display was perfect, right down to the duplication of Rose & Mike's monogram from the program to to cake.

great taste

I'm still playing catch up from Holiday portraits, with lots of great session to share and some weddings as well! I have neglected to post too many weddings here simply due to the overwhelming task of choosing a few single photos from hundreds of beautiful couples and outstanding details but now... with the winter here I will be dedicating time to sharing some of the wedding highlights from this past fall.

In the meantime, meet Little C who has fabulous style, just like her Artist mama whose wedding I photographed several years ago at Winterthur. These images were all taken in the NYC studio that I am lucky enough to be able to use when in town.

We all love the big windows...

C loves playing with her mom's wedding shoes, clearly showing early signs of great taste!
