08.20.10 - Kids natural maternity

This gorgeous couple came from center city Philadelphia out to our area for a natural looking maternity session. I'm glad that they were able to see the beautiful landscapes in our area and am looking forward to meeting their newborn baby next month for our photo session. As a side note the dad-to-be is into CrossFit and I keep hearing about it more and more. My friend Jessica tried to get me to do a workout with her this summer, but I have conveniently avoided it! The results look great but I'm afraid of the pain it takes to get there.

02.15.10 - Kids little sports fan

This little boy is so adorable! I had the pleasure of photographing his parents' wedding and maternity session, so now when I visit, it's so fun to catch up. Dad was busy finishing up his latest book right as little A was born. He's a popular Philadelphia sports announcer, so I'm sure there are many fans excited for its release! Great timing and a harbinger for the many, many exciting things to come for such a wonderful family!

How adorable is this doggie? Primo kept diligent watch over her newest sibling. Really, so very cute!

12.02.09 - Kids hot mama

Tomorrow I'll be photographing the newborn baby from this beautiful maternity session. After photographing this couple's wedding, I knew that she would be gorgeous to photograph pregnant and I right. Dad is a sports announcer and had lots going on between football and baseball in the midst of their schedules, he make sure to be there for a few photos - one of which was my favorites from the session.

05.13.08 - Kids fashion-y maternity

Becky looks so much like Cameron Diaz, don't you think? When I asked her if people often commented on that, she quipped back "yeah... BEFORE I got pregnant." Too funny. I think she still does and looks fantastic! Becca, our associate photographer, photographed Becky's wedding last June and it was so nice to see her again for maternity photos. A lot of people ask about what to wear for maternity sessions and I think Becky's black strapless dress looks absolutely perfect.

03.24.08 - Kids Mason

I apologize for the little blog hiatus last week - I attended one of the largest conventions available for wedding and portrait photographers called WPPI, held in Las Vegas. It was so fun to see all of my photographer friends from around the world and become updated on what is new and exciting in the industry! On the plane ride back I was thinking about how one of my very favorite aspects to being a portrait photographer is the opportunity to watch children grow and document moments at each stage of their life. It's an incredible privilege to be part of the families we photograph in such a meaningful way. For example, right before I left I photographed a six-month session for a client who I have seen three times in the last year. Mason's parents chose some of the very best stages to document from maternity:

and finally... I laughed for a good five minutes when I first viewed this photo. I made everyone in the studio come into my office and humor me by looking at it:

12.17.07 - Kids some of my favorite things

I wish I had the opporutnity to give out fantastic gifts to hundreds of audience members of my blog, but my connections aren't as great as Oprah's (yet!). So in the meantime, I wanted to share with you a few recent favorite photos, holiday cards and albums we have delivered. Today we shipped out several portrait albums, one of which was from Landon's photo shoot about a month ago:

08.08.07 - Kids Mason

After photographing Catherine's maternity session, it was such a pleasure to meet Mason last week and help welcome the newest member of their family into the world. Newborn sessions are always best to capture within the first week of birth - rather than waiting until they are several months old. I'm happy to travel to people's homes to make the photo session convenient for a new mom. All I need is some nice light and a sleepy newborn baby for great photos!

08.06.07 - Kids Jennifer's Maternity

Ever since I opened Laura Novak Photography, my vision for the studio is to eventually have a client base of people who we know so well that they feel like family. Well the first time I met Jennifer & Eli (and her lovely parents) for their wedding in May of 2006 they have felt like family members as we have grown to become closer over time. It's such an amazing feeling to be part of people's lives in all different phases; I love getting to know each family I learn more about who they are - which inspires my ability to create really unique photographs that feel truly personal. Here are Jennifer and Eli on their wedding day in May of 2006:
